Christmas Crappie Wish List: Gift Ideas from ACC and the Pros

By Greg McCain
A certain magic exists in the Christmas season, and crappie fishermen are never immune to the allure of a few magical packages under the tree. Whether you are considering part of the ACC Crappie Stix line of products or something from another brand, quality and affordable gift ideas abound for the slab slayer in your family.
Here are five Christmas wishlist items to consider from ACC, most of them relatively new products that the average crappie fishermen may not have experienced just yet:
- Try the jighead bundle. The ACC Jingle Jigs promotion features six packs in a variety of sizes and colors. The jighead bundle can be twice as nice for several reasons, mainly free shipping on two or more. Regardless of whether you buy one or five, the jighead bundle makes for a nice package for any crappie fisherman.
- The trout/panfish rods, released in the fall, remain in stock and have received rave reviews from users. Regardless of your target species, the Trout/Panfishin’ Stix are a slightly lighter design than the traditional ACC lineup of rods. While they are limber enough to provide a sporting option for smaller panfish, they are hefty enough to handle most trout and just about any crappie.
- For years, anglers have asked which reel is best to pair with an ACC rod. That question is now easy to answer. Check out the new Legacy X 1000 spinning reel. It features smooth casting, retrieve, and drag, all of which combine to make it the perfect companion to any ACC rod.
- For the young crappie anglers in the family, ACC offers a new Kids Stix combo, which includes the 2-piece, 5’ casting rod with a fishing-ready (line included) reel.
- For a good stocking stuffer, think ACC apparel. Several new products are available, including the ACC Graphite Zipper Pocket Hoodie and the Blue Camo Heather Gray Long Sleeve shirt.
In addition to the ACC products available, the ACC Crappie Stix pro staff offered a variety of Christmas wishlist ideas that enhance their fishing. Here are a several affordable choices and a few more extravagant possibilities:
- Keith Acker: Quality ice chests that keep your fish cold even in the hottest conditions (I prefer the RTIC 52qt Ultra Light) and a quality extendable dip net (I prefer the Jenko Big T Duralite).
- Tim Howell: Rapala R12 fillet knife
- Scott Turnage: These little pliers/cutters are a must.
- Nicholas Whitten: 10 pairs of these (Boomerang Tool Company line cutters) would be great!!!
- Don McClish: Quality rain/cold weather gear. The previous 3/4 years I’ve used the Stormr gear. This year I’m trying out the Foul Weather by Firefly. They both are a neoprene style of suit that will float you, a comfortable fit and with base layers stay comfortable in cold weather. So far I’ve been pleased with both.
- Henry Cummings: ACC Crappie Stix Fishing Gloves would be nice. Gloves make a huge difference keeping the body cool on the hot summer days as well as helping to keep hands a little warmer on our mild winter days.
- Reagan Smith: Rapala line remover
- Chris Sarge Gill If I opened a gift from Santa and there was a new Rapala battery operated electric filet knife I would be happy. The Bubba is good but slow. Oh, and if there were an 18” Garmin in the corner, I would not be upset!
- Kennieth Pierce: 16″ Garmin. It wouldn’t matter which one.
Merry Christmas and happy crappie fishing!
